Taking A Break
August 29, 2008 - Friday
I have decided to take a break from The Fly for a little bit; at least from posting a weekly comic. There has been some really bad incidents revolving around my life lately and I just need to think a lot of things over. That and this heat and summer has really got to me and made me really unproductive for the most part. This will give me some time to actually go back through all of The Fly comic strips and check for grammar and miss spelled words. I use to not even care that I had a lot of grammar issues, but just recently I realized that it's really bad. Also this will give me some more time to work on other projects that I've put off and get back into painting some more. I'll post a new Fly comic here and there most likely, but it just won't be my main focus right now.
Traffic Cone
August 19, 2008 - Tuesday
This new comic is based on last Saturday night... I don't know what it was but I just had to take that cone. Maybe it was those couple of drinks I had but you never know.
Dolphin Safe Chicken
August 10, 2008 - Sunday
So my girlfriend and I went to Johnny Rockets the other day and I saw a sign on the wall that said Tuna Salad: Now Dolphin Safe. But I guess when I turned around to say something about the sign I said; the chicken salad is now dolphin safe. Now it's a inside joke with us, so this new comic is for her.
Eye Exam
July 27, 2008 - Sunday
I finally went to get an eye exam, which it has been quite some time since I went. And every time I go I always feel stupid. Like when they ask you to read the bottom line of the chart and you think you know that last letter but its not quite the right letter. I feel like I'm taking a test, and I fail every time.
The Dark Knight
July 20, 2008 - Sunday
So the new comic can be found here. And birdhouses scare me, that's all I'm going to say about that.
Sooo The Dark Knight came out on Friday... and is already breaking all these records. Christopher Nolan keeps the franchise going with what will probably go down as his masterpiece. Even though 4 out of 5 of his major movies are all on IMDBs Top 250. Also talking about IMDBs Top 250, The Dark Knight is being coincided to be up there with movies like The Godfather, and The Shawshank Redemption. I not quite sure if I'm convinced about that yet, but this is a movie that will defiantly change the way at least comic book movies are made; again. I believe if it wasn't a Batman movie that It would easily be one of the best movies of all time. We'll see maybe after a couple of more times seeing it in theaters (which I know I will) I might feel that it deserves to be next to Shawshank, and Godfather.
Everyone in The Dark Knight played there parts perfect and truly believable. Christian Bale grew from the first movie and filled out The Dark Knight extremely well. And Harvey Dent/Two-Face played by Aaron Eckhart was an amazing performance that really made you feel the transformation of the split personality of his character. But the best performance hands down was Heath Ledger as The Joker. One of the most believable characters that I have ever seen in any movie. It is rumored that he would have been up for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, but since his death earlier in the year they wouldn't nominate him or have a chance at winning it. Which shouldn't be the case. Deceased or alive if you deserved an Oscar for your role you should get it. Oh well we'll see what happens.
Jumping Contest
July 14, 2008 - Monday
So obviously I didn't get to put up this weeks comic on time. I blame this heat and making me lazy. But I did get to go see Hellboy II; amazing movie.
The 4th of Huh...
July 6, 2008 - Sunday
So it's kind of late in the day to be putting up the new Sundays comic, but It is up now. I hope everyone had a good 4th. I know I did, I think... I was kind of drunk. I guess I blacked out for a few hours. People were telling me things that happened in the day and I don't remember at all.
Retarded Duck
June 29, 2008 - Sunday
So todays comic is based on truth; or fiction? The question has finally been answered... well at least my way.
This is California... This is California on fire. So this summer has been ridiculously crazy and a bit scary. All of these fires going on and being right in the middle of all of it. All of those push pins represent all of the fires that are going on. Looking up in the night sky and having it look like the end of the world. Waking up and having my car covered in ash. Not being able to see off into the distance cause of the smoke filled air. I feel like I should be wearing an mask just to breath.
Pervert Deer
June 22, 2008 - Sunday
So the other day there was this deer right in the middle of our street in the middle of suburbia. And the only thing that I could think of was that the deer must be on a pantie raid... damn Pervert Deer.
Its Damn Hot
June 20, 2008 - Friday
It is ridiculously hot here and has been for the past couple of days and the heat wave is suppose to stick around for another couple of days too before it starts cooling down a little. This type of heat starts getting to you and its making me really unproductive right now. Why do you hate us so much sun?
Cows and Stairs
June 15, 2008 - Sunday
So todays comic was inspired by a Snapple bottle cap. Theres some interesting stuff on those. Even though I had already known that cows can't walk down stairs or cross over grates the bottle cap just made me realize I needed to do a comic about it. Damn cows and their weird inabilities.
